Providence Team IRL sailor and Olympian, Annalise Murphy will take to the waters in Oman today for the 2015 Laser Radial World Championships. Annalise will take on some of the worlds best sailors, in what is the biggest laser regatta of the year in the most competitive of sailing classes.

Annalise has spent the year preparing for these championships in both training and competitions, in order to develop and hone her skills in lighter wind environments. A notoriously light-wind venue, the waters off the Al Mussanah Sports City in Oman will provide a challenge to all competitors, and this event is a chance for Annalise to sharpen her skills and tactics ahead of the Olympic year.

This event is the second last Laser Radial World Championships before Olympic sailing starts in August 2016. 100 of the worlds best Laser Radial sailors including London 2012 gold medallist Lijia Xu from China and Evi Van Acker from Belgium who is ranked world number one, will be determined to leave their mark on this fiercely competitive fleet. In total, 100 sailors representing 50 nations will attend the 2015 Laser Radial Women’s World Championships.

The racing gets underway on on Friday 20th and continues until Thursday 26th November. Follow the racing on Twitter @isa_performace and
